Principal’s Message

A very warm welcome to our school website.
I am Sue Clague and I am very privileged and proud to be the principal of this lovely school which prides itself on being inclusive, passionate and focused on providing the best learning experiences and opportunities for all our students.
We have a current school population of 68 students. Our student population has grown steadily over the past three years and is projected to continue this growth into the future.
Nicholson Primary School is a vibrant and enthusiastic centre of teaching and learning. The primary focus of the school is to provide our students with rich, challenging and personalised learning experiences where students are motivated to work to their potential. The school is in its first year of a new strategic plan with a focus on improving student outcomes in Literacy and Numeracy and developing student advocacy in their learning through Growth Mindsets, Challenging Learning and Feedback.
We are a values based school and all staff are committed to improving outcomes for all students by working as a collaborative team promoting practice excellence, high expectations and genuine care towards all students and their families.
The school implements a Restorative Practice approach to student engagement and wellbeing. Focus is on positive learner dispositions and a strength based approach to engagement and behaviour interventions.
Nicholson Primary School is a committed member of the Mitchell River Cluster which enables us to participate in combined sporting activities and other group days.
Nicholson Primary School is a small caring community. The school is proud of its parental support and community involvement and is enthusiastically supported by a hard working school council.
Enjoy looking around our website and learning more about us and the uniqueness our small school has to offer.
